OFF WITH THEIR HEADS SIGN WITH EPITAPH RECORDS AND KICKOFF NEW TOUR

Epitaph Records is proud to announce the signing of Minneapolis punk band Off With Their Heads. The punk rock road dogs recently took time off from touring to record their second full length album, with plans for a summer release, but left the engine running for a two month long excursion of US and Canada that begins today (Tour Dates Listed Below).

Formed in 2002, Off With Their Heads went through a slew of musicians before finally cementing the lineup with Ryan Young on vocals/guitar, Justin Francis on drums, Zack Gontard on guitar and Robbie Swartwood on bass. Since their inception, the band has released an impressive catalog of music including seventeen 7”’s, one LP and a few comps, and has toured relentlessly in US, Europe, Canada and Japan for the past five years with bands like Against Me, Youth Brigade, The Bouncing Souls and Municipal Waste to name a few.

It was during Off With Their Heads’ 2009 tour with Against Me when the band got the call from Epitaph’s owner/president Brett Gurewitz saying that he was a fan of the band.

“Off With Their Heads might be the best punk band going right now, Epitaph needs them; music needs them” says Gurewitz.

Prolific Twin Cities punk photographer Adam Degross has printed a very limited edition (of 50) zine. Paper? I know, right? Available at shows and places like Extreme Noise Records while supplies last, this non-traditional zine doesn't feature any articles. No words whatsoever. Just images shot by Adam. Good luck nabbing one.

It was mere months ago when the street punx in the streets themselves were hailed as "too punk for a myspace page." Well, as with all punks, eventually you cave into the pressures of the evil society and sell out! Good for the fans, because the Ponx are clearly not too punk for a quality studio recording either, and the new mp3s available on the page sound great.

I reserve the right to talk shit. I was throwing DIY punk rock shows long before Anti-Flag CDs were in the mall, which is saying a lot, since even their first CD, when it was pressed on some oddball label, was in malls. And I understand that it takes a lot to stay on top when you've been irrelevant for almost a decade, but wow. And I mean WOW. Here we have irrefutable proof that it takes a suspension of integrity. Really guys, you've sucked for years, and you're pretty much nard-clipped emasculated pansies to begin with (especially the bassist), but to surf the coattails of roller girls? My oh my. Suddenly I'm glad my band gave up the ghost in 2002. Talk about a "sold out 'Merica." (???) Anyhow, stop coming to this page. Punk rocks is dead. These guys helped kill it, cashed the insurance check, and bought an inground pool.

Where is an angry skin byrd when you need one to flatten the nose of a bubble gum pop princess dressed up in her punk rock tourist outfit? Seeing someone like her get away with something like this feels like getting mugged at an ATM only to find a parking ticket on your car afterward. Here we have Audrina Partridge, star of Mtv's The Hills, parading around, however fuckable, in what she clearly thinks is punk rock "gear." Someone should have leapt from the bushes and stripped her naked. Not because I want to see that hot little package unsheathed, of course not, but for justice and keeping it real!
