Virgin Whores full length out now!
From the band’s very name forward, The Virgin Whores hearken back to a time when punk rock was a lean machine, an innocent, self declared adversary to all things boring and a hungry celebration of all things sinful. In an era where “punk” has come to mean many things, worst of all bands with six word mega-names who release over produced, over written, over conceptualized art rock with overdone haircuts, indecipherable screaming vocals paired with lame duck operatic dirges, and predictable song structures, the Virgin Whores spare no time second guessing the basic tenant of punk.
They press the action and don’t waste a moment with contemplative breakdowns or gratuitous wanking solos. You won’t find a solitary line of limp dick poetry, either. They just bring intensity, anger, and a love for partying hard. I’ve heard it said there are two types of punks, those who love the Sex Pistols and those who love the Clash. The Virgin Whores are inarguably on the Sex Pistols end of that spectrum, and when you consider that just about every flaccid bullshit band on Warped Tour cite the Clash as their primary influence, it’s about fucking time.
"Public Nuisance" is the Virgin Whore's first full length release, available on CD and limited to only 100 vinyl LPs. We could list a few standout tracks, but the album is solid, so why bother? Okay, okay, fine. "Wasted" might be to 2009 what Onward To Mayhem's "Up the Drunx" was to 2001 or The Murderers "Have Another" was to 1999.
